Biography
Ramsey advises companies, entrepreneurs, and individuals on a variety of corporate and international transactional and regulatory matters. He has broad experience counseling both publicly-traded and privately-held clients on various commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and structuring, and numerous other transactional matters. Clients rely on Ramsey for guidance in all phases of their businesses, including entity formation, growth planning, reorganization, m&a, and exit.
Ramsey counsels clients in a variety of industries, such as aviation, aerospace, defense, technology, and transportation, among others. Ramsey’s practice includes advising companies on the cutting edge of technology, including innovative businesses working on drones, car sharing and ridesharing technologies, and the development of flying vehicles. Whoever the client and whatever the matter, Ramsey’s goal is to provide a real world approach that maximizes results and minimizes costs.
Ramsey Ammar is a founding partner of Bizjet Law. He represents both domestic and international clients on all aspects of aviation law and specializes in purchases and sales of aircraft and mergers and acquisitions in the aviation industry. At his core, Ramsey is a dealmaker, but even more importantly, he is a deal closer.
Ramsey brings sophisticated state and federal tax counseling experience and extensive aviation regulatory knowledge to each and every transaction. His clients include HNWIs, owners of private and commercial aircraft, buyers, sellers, serial and portfolio entrepreneurs, lenders and other financiers. Ramsey’s goal is to distill complex tax and regulatory concepts into actionable recommendations for his clients.
Ramsey has broad experience in structuring aircraft ownership and operating structures under Part 91 and Part 135 as well as complex hybrid operations. Often his services concentrate on designing and structuring business aviation related agreements, businesses, and ownership entities to meet clients’ objectives which most often include (1) FAA, DOT, and FAR compliance, and (2) the minimization of both liability and taxes related to aircraft ownership and operations.
Ramsey is the only aviation attorney in the entire United States with an advanced Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Transactions, giving him a unique edge for international transactions and clients. In particular, Ramsey has counseled clients on transactions throughout the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America.
Ramsey’s practice includes acting as outside general counsel for traditional aviation companies, including Part 135, Part 145, and Part 137 operators, as well as fixed base operators (FBOs). At the same time, Ramsey’s advises companies on the cutting edge of technology, including innovative businesses working on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and the development of flying vehicles.
Prior to joining Bizjet Law, Ramsey worked as an attorney in the aviation practice at Polsinelli P.C., a premier Colorado AmLaw 100 law firm.
